Great location, near Hanoi’s important landmarks. Great, friendly, helpful staff. But the property is severely outdated. Pictures oversell the place. Felt like it needed a fresh scrub and a new paint job all over the place. Much off the furniture in the bedroom and lobby were well worn, etc. Also, room with balcony is just a full length window opening to a rebarred landing space that can barely fit a person. It does come with a perfect view of neighbors’ rusted rooftops, walls and water tanks.

We booked two rooms at the Aira for six nights. Before we arrived we needed to extend the stay, and the team took care of it with no issue at all. The communication leading up to the trip was great, which got things off on the right foot. The staff helped us out at every turn. One morning they sewed a button back onto my son’s shirt, and Christine booked us a trip to Halong Bay that included private transport. It made a real difference. The rooms are clean and have a lot of character. The streaming boxes were a nice touch, and the AC was quiet and worked well. Breakfast was great, and the SkyBar was a good way to end the day. There’s also a pool and gym on the 7th floor, and the pool was refreshing. We’ll be back.

The room and bathroom were clean, like pictured. The reception staff (Tony and his team) were friendly, very prompt with requests and made everything for me very easy, they even kept my luggage for 2 days after i checked out to go to Sapa.
