"A great hotel in an excellent downtown Halifax location, within easy walking distance of both the Waterfront and the Citadel. The service was outstanding, and special thanks to Victoria at the front desk for being so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The hotel also has a very nice indoor pool, which was a great bonus after a day of sightseeing. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay in the heart of Halifax. Highly recommended!"

"The hotel staff were amazing and they even gave our dog a gift bag with some treats upon check in. We had quite a bit of luggage with our dog crate and they were quick to bring our things to the room for us and back downstairs during check out. The only downside was that the air conditioning doesnt run into both the living room and bedroom and once you close the bedroom door it gets pretty warm in there. There was an event happening and parking was a bit of a mess but they got us setup on the overflow lot which is a quick 5 minute walk away."

"Stayed three nights in August. At first I was disappointed that there was no underground parking, but the lot across the street was very convenient and cheaper than the underground option. The location is absolutely perfect for taking in the vibrant Halifax waterfront scene. The room was what I’d expect from a Marriott: clean, great view, although I’d prefer if the vent in the bathroom worked. The main issue was that both elevators were out of order for the duration of our stay. The many flights of steps were not a fun way to start or end our long days of touring around. However, Melanie, at the front desk, went above and beyond to compensate us for the inconvenience, which was very much appreciated. I understand that mechanical failures may happen, or human errors occur, but the way they are dealt with are what separates a good from a bad experience, and Melanie was completely professional and competent in dealing with us and Expedia on our behalf."

"Best Western Chocolate Lake was such a great place to stay. Let’s start with the lake in the rear of the property. Gorgeous and peaceful. Many guests went in with paddle boards or water loungers. Breakfast was hot and great. They also had to-go containers if you wanted to take breakfast with you. Parking was included as well. Our room was clean and they provided shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and lotion. Staff was great, friendly and very helpful. It’s a 10 min. drive from the boardwalk and the price was great. Will definitely be returning."
