"I was really impressed by this property and the city it's in, Bergish Gladbach. First, the hotel is owned and managed by the son of the original owner. It is a well cared for establishment, which sits on the west side of Bergish Gladbach on the edge of a forest that surrounds the city. This area of Germany is so impressive for care they take of their public parks. It really is a beautiful location. My room was clean and nice with the latest of comforts. I was specially impressed by the in-room refreshments in the refrigerator. It was stocked with beverages of all kinds - alcoholic and non alcoholic. All were reasonably priced. Their restaurant seemed like a very good place to eat. While I didn't get to have dinner there, the breakfast fare is excellent. I got to meet and talk with the owner manager and his wife, both of whom I thought were very nice. If you stay here, you must take the 25 minute walk into Bergish Gladbach and experience the local restaurants and culture. Though I don't speak German, the restaurant staff was very friendly and accommodating. Should I find myself in Cologne again, I will definitely try to book a room here again. "
