Front desk man was nice. Breakfast was pretty good, had scrambled eggs and sausage gravy with biscuits alongside with the usual toast, bagels and fruits. Pool looked a little rough, but had no plans to use it anyhow.

Perfect for our weekend. Clean, spacious, ac worked great. It was a busy weekend so shower water temp cold on 2nd day only. Everyone getting ready at same time. I understand. Good value for what you get.

For the price we paid ($37/night) I can’t say enough about the value. The staff were all friendly and great and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good for a free hotel breakfast (the typical cereal/yogurt/waffle machine/toast/juice/coffee plus scrambled eggs and biscuits and sausage gravy). The man who checked us in and seemed to be the main staff person was very friendly and competent. I would stay here again anytime I’m in Grinnell. The pool whitecoat could use some help (there are patches in it which look unsightly) but that doesn’t make a pool unsafe (I’m a certified pool operator so I know) but if the pool is important to you that might be one reason to stay elsewhere.

Positive: Staff was very friendly. Negative: Our room smelled like smoke even though it was a no smoking room. There was a bug in one of the beds, a spider in the shower & mildew stains on the bathroom ceiling. We ended up deciding last minute not to stay the second night & just drove home through the night. Will not stay here again.

The room is clean. The front desk staff is very friendly and ready to offer help any time. Breakfast is good, not that many options but solid - I can find everything I need. This hotel feels a safe place to stay. Will stay again.

The place was very run down. The price was great but wish they could fix something. Ceiling in bathroom was ruined, bathroom floor cracked. Light by window was coming off the ceiling. Window was propped with a stick to prevent people from coming in I assume. Pool needed a new paint job on the bottom. Bed was hard. A safe place to sleep but definitely needs a good remodel.
