"This is a lovely ‘proper’ hotel. The staff were so amazing and cared about what they were doing so much we went back for another night. Yes it’s a little faded in places but spotless and I loved that it wasn’t a modern carbon copy of every hotel out there. They are renovating and you can start to see what the vision will be. If you like the best service, huge comfortable beds, fantastic food , peaceful surroundings, feel welcome and as if nothing is too much trouble and don’t care that this beautiful house is a little tired then I can’t recommend it enough"

"Our room was really clean and conveniently located a few steps to the dining room. The bed was okay, but a bit worn and creaky. The bathroom was clean though evidently suffers from a lack of ventilation and smelt a bit damp. On arrival we were advised breakfast would be a continental take out. Not what we expected and wasn't the best to be honest. An out of date juice, a banana, an apple, a plum, some biscuits and a packet of crisps. Supper was the really good though and the village was lovely and quiet."
