"We were pleasantly surprised by this facility, as we were aware that it is quite old. The location was perfect…..quiet, wooded, and with a lovely expansive waterfront that was very private. Our balcony looked through trees onto a wonderful panoramic lake view. Our unit was most pleasant….clean, bright and very functional. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was top notch….attractive and felt great! The lighting in the bathroom was much appreciated as it was very bright. Our only disappointment was the shower as there was not a hand held option for showering.
We would definitely return and have already recommended this property to others.
Thank you for our most pleasant stay!

"Great location for a quick break from the city. The restaurant offered a delicious selection of food, and the staff is amazing. Very friendly and helpful.
The rooms in the older section of the building are a bit run down. The rooms are tiny, bedding was a bit stained, didn’t love that the sheets didn’t cover the mattresses fully, so often times the mattress and bedframe was exposed. Bathroom looked renovated and was clean. Waterview balcony wasn't very private, neighbours could walk right by and see into our room.
Overall, I would recommend. However, I would look into a room on the newer side of the building."
The Champlain Waterfront Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay was great. The room was clean and staff were friendly! The amenities were as mentioned and satisfactory for our stay. The included breakfast was just enough!"
"We were a little shocked that this place was considered a luxury hotel, it is more like a 3 star hotel. It was very dated, the entrance was in need of repairs, definitely needs some maintenance inside and outside. It may have been a luxury hotel when it first opened.
The staff were very nice and helpful.
The room was very dated, definitely needed repairs. The pillows were so small!
The breakfast was good, bagels, toast, pastries, eggs , juices and the coffee was fresh.
It was a bit far from the casino, it would be nice if the casino still offered shuttles."
"We enjoyed our stay thoroughly , we booked this place at last minute for the meteor shower show at torrence dark sky preserve which is 1 hr drive away from this place, but helped a lot"
