We ended up extending an extra night we loved it so much. Definitely recommend the night hike. Be warned- it is remote so only the on site restaurant (carrot soup was amazing) and sometimes limited water. Only accessible by 4x4 but easy to organize a ride with the lodge. Waking up to howler monkeys above your casita it totally amazing.
The trails through the jungle around the lodge are incredible, and very well maintained. The owner and staff were very attentive, and I felt completely taken care of, from the moment my plane landed, until my return flight took off. The lodge owner matched me with a guide, Harold “The Tiger,” who took me on several grand adventures, hiking, kayaking, birding, touring white towns. This was the best stay I’ve ever had, anywhere! I plan on returning, soon. I can not recommend this place enough!!
1st, this not a property for the very stuck up. This is real for backpack traveler and those interested in outdoorsy adventures.
Its literally on the Mombacho Volcano. Try walking to the top or there are taxis thay can take you.
The host is very helpful and friendly, he can set you up with transport from airport n back. Along with other adventures. He also has a great Night Walk thru the jungle where you can see the wild life
Staying at Mombacho Lodge was an incredible experience. I got the opportunity to stay in the park. There were howler monkeys, a sloth, butrerfliesand beautiful plants and trees all around me. Big groups of howler monkeys came through the property twice each day.

Ganz ok
Petit dej trs copieux
Nothing to do around one you do the zip line, the coffee tour and a trail on Mombacho. The place is isolated and hard to get to anywhere without a car. The guys cooked us meals every day which were not too bad concidering the circumstances and reasonably priced. We stayed 2 nights and that was enough for us.It was nice being so close to a volcano and being surrounded by nature.Lots of hawler monkeys around as well!!
