"This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The staff really look after you, nice surprises every day, great location, walkable to the more busy areas. Would highly recommend taking the pink speedboat out for a snorkelling trip, it was a highlight of our trip. Stop reading the reviews and book this hotel!!!"

"This property was fine but quite run down. The first night I had mosquitos in every part of my room including the mosquito net, and every night there were movies playing next door that I heard word for word, including a party until 4am. There’s insects everywhere and just lacked an overall vibe. The location is pretty good, very close to the dock but I only really slept here because I didn’t feel like wanting to hang about as a solo traveller. "

"I was bitten by insects as soon as I entered the place.There was holes in the mosquito net, I voiced my concerns with the staff, who listened but did nothing. At night I was very bitten by mosquitoes. There is very little ventilation as no windows, so the heat builds up, the fan is inadequate to cool you down. The bathroom is outdoors and does not have any privacy. I ended up staying somewhere else, and paying again. The guest book had comments from other customer's voicing the same...

"This hostel was really nice, from the reception to the room to the breakfast , all very nice. I stayed for 5 nights , the first couple nights I stayed in the deluxe room and the last 3 in a standard double. I had planned on hotel hopping around the island but Gili Buana was so relaxed I was happy to stay put. As A solo traveler I felt very welcome. Aisje the manager was an amazing hostess, she invited me for sunset and dinner a couple nights which was lovely. I highly recommend this hostel. "
