"Although the reception, library room and breakfast area were fine this hotel is in need of renovation. We stayed two nights and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Especially Julia on the front desk. Our beds were large and comfortable but the room was dated with taps not working and the toilet hard to flush. Breakfast was adequate. "Very clean with friendly helpful staff. However, our room (103) was very tired with broken blinds and to have the window open there was no where to latch it. Had to balance the arm on the outside sill which, as on the ground floor felt very unsafe. The rooms could do with air conditioning as a fan is not adequate in the hot weather we have been having. Good value if you just need a bed for the night."

"We stayed at the hotel on one of the hottest days of the year and we were alerted in advance by the hotel to the absence of air-conditioning. Nevertheless the hotel provided fans to mitigate the discomfort and this was very much appreciated. The staff behaved professionally and obligingly throughout and were helpful, including when I rang in advance to book a meal in the hotel restaurant. The hotel and rooms were clean; the toilet flush in our room was temperamental but this was the only hiccup. Our stay was enjoyable. We did not take breakfast but the meal in the restaurant gave good vale for money"

"This was a last moment decision to stay in the area rather than travel home as i had to be further east next day , and this turned out to be a real find. Located in the middle of town it has a large carpark to the rear so easy to find and get straight in. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful and the room was large with an exquisite shower room ,tea and coffee facilities and flat screen tv. The wifi was excellent which enabled me to work. In the evening the restaurant staff were making sure everything was just so and the deputy manager i believe was so bubbly and couldn't do enough Absolutely i will go back here again"

"Located in Brayford Pool, where the old port wharf has been redeveloped like other cities (Gloucester etc) in has a car park and big multistorey next door as well.£10.40 for 24 hrs. Excellent position for relaxed dining and drinking on terraces/outdoors. Short walk to main High St shops. A significant climb up to the elevated section of the city with cafes,shops and the Cathedral and Castle. Spacious room, but a little expensive. Excellent air conditioning on hottest day of year . Excellent breakfast. Major disappointed was the bar staff's refusal to start up the coffee machine at 23.06 hrs for 2 cappuccinos at the "24 hr bar ". We did have a coffee machine in our room. We'd certainly stay there again."

"Check in was very easy and straightforward. My only negative on this is the time allowed in the car park at check in. We wanted to just drop our things off and then go but felt like we had to rush because of the time limit. Our room was clean and comfortable. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and professional. The breakfast was an added bonus. Very tasty and plenty of choice. We love the convenience of the hotel. Would definitely recommend booking and will be back next year. 👍"
