"We had initially planned to stay somewhere out of 'town' but a last minute storm put paid to that!But we always knew we had the Aspen Court as a great option. We'd stayed here previously in 2017 and were happy to stay again, and tge value on offer is great. The place seems to have barely changed during that time, but has been extremely well maintained. The friendly and helpful managers are locals and know the area well. Plenty of knowledge available on the best places to eat, hike and take in the sights. The hotel is a short walk to most eating establishments along with the local supermarket. The room itself was fantastic. Well-appointed, fastidiously clean (I would have given it six stars for cleanliness if I could) with plenty of space. A king size bed and a decent couch provided the comforts people appreciate while travelling. The shower also came with one of those steam hoods which is quite a nice touch in a colder location - and this was their standard room. Car parking is available just outside your door in most cases, and the place isn't big enough to have cars coming and going too often. There is an onsite laundry available with two washers and dryers ($4 each use), and unlike many places, the machines are clean and well kept."

"Above and beyond service and friendliness. Our host was exceptional at check in, providing a complimentary fresh warmed blueberry muffin for each traveler. Rooms were warm, clean & comfortable. Common area spacious, friendly, very well equipped, with complementary coffee, vegetable soup (home made!), popcorn. Full kitchen. Also a gym and spa available. Our departure from the region was delayed, and we were allowed access to the common area after check out by the very generous host. HIGHLY recommended."

"Very clean, modern and comfortable stay! Appreciated the TV room, common room with games, a fireplace and lots of seating. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious, my highlight was the sauna which was inside the hostel that was delightful and warmed me after a cold hike. I also loved that my en-suite bathroom had both an extractor fan and heater too which was a nice touch."

The rooms are excellent with lots of thought put in to the little things that make a stay special like - the fireplace in the room and the comfy lounge chairs. Definitely the best place we have stayed during our two weeks roadtrip around the South Island."
