"The room was very clean, perfect for the type of stay I needed. It was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was the real let down for me unfortunately. There wasn’t a huge vegetarian/ vegan option. It’s a buffet style so most of the foods were quite cold even though should have been served hot. Overall I definitely don’t think the breakfast was good value for money."

"Beautiful hotel which is spotlessly clean and staffed by the most lovely people. My husband and I were discussing how lucky the hotel is to have such brilliant people. Everyone of them couldn’t do enough and it wasn’t “ forced” as they all were so naturally lovely. From the lovely lady who checked us in on arrival then the cleaners who were excellent. Then Ivanilda in the breakfast room who went out of her way to help us choose the beach / island we visited. Then she checked on us the next day to ask where we went and if we enjoyed it. The rooftop was lovely and the pool was freezing cold as expected for early season in May but was refreshing once in! The indoor spa area was really lovely too. Perfect hotel in a perfect location. Thank you!"

"The ultimate escape to real luxury with genuinely fine people. I loved the restored 19th-century palace with very spacious and sleek bedrooms that opened up to individual, private patios fronted by lovely gardens and singing birds. The swimming pool was fresh water, and if you got chilly in the spring weather you could jump into the steam room or sauna. Views of the countryside from the terraces were spectacular. The cuisine was very well prepared, a good fusion of traditional Portuguese food with French gastronomic cuisine finesse. I do want to return to the Palacio, and it will be for a longer vacation here!"

"The room was nice and all the amenities were good. They provide basic breakfast as well which is a bonus. The code for the front door didn’t work, apparently it was changed but other guests let me in. The staff were onsite as well. I tried emailing ahead of time to ask some questions through Expedia but the property never did get back to me. "
