We loved this place because of its historic charm and the wonderful staff! Located just a short walk from the hub of evora, the hotel used to belong to a noble! There are a lot of cozy nooks to relax in with the house wine made by the owners!

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Very good location for the centre and the university. It's a little bit tired and could do with a bathroom revamp for example and the breakfast was a bit basic (esp if you wanted healthier options, e.g. muesli)

We had a double room that was basic but more than adequate. Nice light from 2 windows. Location is right next to the Cathedral and very walkable for all of town inside the wall. Plenty of close shopping and dining options. Loved being able to use the juicer at breakfast for fresh squeezed orange juice. Young ladies at the front desk (Julia and Jenae) were fabulous. Historic place with lots of character. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely character hotel with lots of charm and history! The staff at reception were excellent and very helpful. Our room was a good size with a big wardrobe, desk, and windows. The bathroom was also a good size with a shower and tub. Very quiet for sleeping. The hotel breakfast had lots of food options and was in a grand dining room or out on the terrace. We would absolutely come back to this hotel!

Older building but well maintained.

The hotel is nicely located, away but close enough to the centre and monuments. This was a crazy city to navigate and GPS was essential to get around. Lots of nice walks around town and plenty of cafes and bars to stop at. And nice to be in a well preserved building with lots of antiques.

I adore this hotel; it lives up to all my fantasies.It has traditional, old-fashioned rooms in a former palace, with luxury touches like a spacious, windowed marble bathroom with a huge bathtub, bidet, and super-fluffy towels. Charming terraces, beautiful breakfast room, and cosy interior bar and television lounge (besides the TV in each room); excellent staff; great location amply compensate for the many maany stairs (no elevator).

Quiet, characterful hotel in a perfect location.

Perfect location. Only 5-ish minutes walk from the major sights - Cathedral, Templo Romano, Chapel of Bones and also the beautiful, peaceful public gardens. The staff at the hotel were wonderful - so friendly and kind. The hotel has so much character and the terrace is a lovely place to sit at any time of day looking over a lovely little square with a beautiful church and trees. My room was very comfortable and with thick stone walls and very high ceilings so was very cool.despite the warm weather.

Historical stay plus walking to everything = yes!!

Fantastic experience! It’s a super old historical building (read as HUNDREDS of years old) that was ‘lightly’ renovated as a hotel. Also very close to everything in the city! The fanciest people should NOT stay here but those that enjoy history and don’t mind basic rooms will really enjoy it. Our night time staff (English name John) was awesome and we really enjoyed grabbing his attention from his work to chat in the lounge by the fireplace! Their owner now has a winery and my wife enjoyed the Rose. Thanks again John, we will stay again if we return!

Excellent Customer Service

Hotel Solar de Monfalim was beautiful, quaint, quiet, clean, within walking distance of the major sites and their customer service was exceptional. During my stay there, I ran into a very serious personal emergency. Both Ines and the owner were so gracious to help me resolve the problem as quickly as possible, providing the assistance I needed amidst my panic. Additionally, Hotel Solar de Monfalim graciously provided me with an upgraded room because of some issues that I was having with my room. I would definitely recommend them and I hope to return the next time that I am in Évora.
