"This was our stop on the way from London to Austria. Very good location (close to motorway) and a huge car park. Hotel and rooms could do with fresh decor but everything was clean. "Unfortunately, the hotel does not have AC. And most months you might not need it. But in the summer (July) it was hot and humid and there was no airflow when opening the window. It was terribly hot and unbearable. Also, I booked a double bed room and got a single. When I inquired, they said that double bed rooms are single ones?!?! "Years ago when we lived in Ettlingen I admired the historic hotel Watthalden property and we had a very happy stay there this summer. The hotel is nicely decorated, the suites are spacious with kitchenette facilities, we found the breakfast buffet to be excellent, and the surrounding area by the Alb River is beautiful and serene. We were just a short walk to town with its wonderful dining,
parks
and shopping. Short walk to the train for Karlsruhe and beyond. Lovely stay!"
