We enjoyed freshly baked bread the host provided during our stay. The bathroom sometimes had a sewer smell and required us to open and air the house out. They will be correcting the plumbing issue that resulted in fresh water flow from the toilet during our stay. They were very responsive in the clean up. "

"Very nice new unit, air conditioning works very well, roomy, well-stocked kitchen, and a lovely private patio with sun loungers and a million dollar view of funchal and the ocean far below. Has a washer and dryer that do not dry to north american standards, you have to leave clothes out on the patio, but that is like every place we have rented in Portugal so far. A high end dining road with numerous restaurants including a Michelin two star, but also with more reasonable options, is a block away...

"Great location and caring staff, with a few small improvements needed The location of the hotel is wonderful, and the island itself is absolutely beautiful. It would honestly be a shame to spend all your time just staying at the hotel — we explored the island, enjoyed the nature, watched the sunrises, and truly appreciated our time here. The reception staff were very kind and caring, which made our stay even more pleasant. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. We especially appreciated the access to the sauna and the option to request a lunch box. Since we chose to wake up early to watch the sunrise and explore the island, we unfortunately never made it to breakfast (even though it was included in the price), so the lunch box option was very helpful for us. However, there are a few things that could be improved. There were no slippers in the room, which would have been a nice addition. Also, the lunch boxes were inconsistent: one morning it was prepared only for one person (even though there were two of us), the next day it was for two people, and on the third day again only for one. We were not sure why this happened. Another issue was the strong smell in the room upon arrival. It smelled heavily of chlorine, almost like a hospital. It made the first night quite uncomfortable. Perhaps adding some light room fragrance or sachets could help create a more welcoming atmosphere. Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed our time on the island. With a few small improvemen"

We remember these people and the good service they gave with a smile Bar - Antonio Entertainment - Sofia, Bruna, David, Carmen, Grace, Pedro Reception- Emmanuel, Mariana, Basilio Coffee - Bela, Linda Spa - reception Restaurants- Natalia But all staff were very warm and welcoming. "Loved it got a free upgrade. My adult daughter and I enjoyed the pool, breakfast, gym and other facilities. Did the Madeira tasting evening which was yummy, with plenty of food, and wine, well worth it. Car park was a little tricky required reversing in, if arriving back later in the evening, but that added to the adventure of the holiday. Thank you "
