This was a good stopping point for us on a trip. There's not much else around, but there is a restaurant on site that's pretty good. The room was very dated but clean. I appreciated the friendly staff, fantastic view from the back of the lodge, and easy access from the 80. I highly recommend Sierra Discovery trail nearby, it's a beautiful walk in the woods.
Older hotel but was great stay for 1 night on our way to Lake Tahoe. After a long travel day, it was an easy check in and the restaurant attached to the hotel was such a relaxing place to enjoy supper and meal was reasonable and excellent. Ate there again for breakfast and was delicious. Best vanilla latte I have had anywhere and the staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Loved what they are all about in helping with the Teen Challenge program. So glad we stayed here and would stay again.
Phil, the man at the front desk was so nice! He even checked up on us because we had not arrived yet (it was after 9p). I appreciated that. Room was close to our vehicle. Attached resturant was clutch for breakfast. Food was good, affordable and quick!
My fiance and I had such an amazing time here. We were looking for a last-minute getaway and there was one room left when I found it. From the moment we checked in, until the moment we left, the staff were very warm and inviting. The room was very clean - it did not have a fridge, microwave, or a/c unit so just be prepared for that. That did not matter to us though. It's perfectly tucked into a forest off of the freeway and the grounds were so stunning! We were able to play horseshoes which was super fun. Their restaurant on site has McDonald's prices, with AMAZING food options. The Brisket Mac n Cheese is a must try! It was quiet and a good location for us to have some adventures. There are so many good fishing lakes nearby as well. We will definitely stay here again. I cannot say enough good things about this lodge. It was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Oh and the bathtub...it was a Jacuzzi tub!! Which made for some nice relaxation after a long day of fishing.

Very quiet neighborhood with a beautiful backdrop of the mountain. It has a large back area where little kids can run around.
Rooms are clean and quiet, beds are comfy, shower is hot. The staff is super friendly. It isn’t the Riz but a solid, affordable option for a skiing weekend in Sugarbowl, about 20 min away.
We had a wonderful stay at the Sierra Woods Lodge. The place was clean, peaceful, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the location was perfect close to nature but still accessible. Highly recommend for families and couples looking for quiet getaway. Special mention to The Rustic Table Restaurant. They serve tasty food at reasonable price.

Cute and peaceful. Our room faced the meadow and low mountain beyond so we heard the chirping of frogs all evening. The owners are clearly catching up on deferred maintenance but our room was in perfect shape. The staff were attentive and friendly. We will come back!

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was nice and warm, so we had a very comfortable stay. The attached restaurant was also quite good and the food was delicious. The only downsides were that the smell of the cleaning products in the bathroom was quite strong and the ventilation fan was very loud, but overall we had a good experience.
"Mountain view" means able to see the mountains from the porch, not directly from the window unfortunately. Still a great view.
This place is great for the price. If youre the type that needs a bed and a shower and thats it, stay here. Its clean enough, nothing fancy. Comfy bed, tv with lots of channels. The restaurant is good too! Chipotle chicken sandwich is delicious, would eat there even if i wasnt already staying.
Super convenient spot, no freeway noise either. Not many rooms so few parking spots.
Be aware of local wildlife!
