"From the start the hotel lobby was so full lots of people standing around and no real direction of where you were to check in.
Hotel is under construction so if you want a noisy hot place this is it.
The elevator system is ridiculous it’s impossible to get one in the morning going down as they are always full and to go up is a whole other waiting system.
We tried to get breakfast once but it was too chaotic and nobody really telling people not to grab with there hands.
During our stay the ac didn’t work we did call having them come at almost 12/1 in the morning. They put some Freon in but it worked a few hours and the same thing.
Most of the staff was great other the one person the night we called had attitude saying it has only been “49 minutes” when it was way over a hour.
The location is great just wish everything else would have been too.
Definitely would not be coming back I rather pay more to get a room that the ac works the whole time."
"Location is fantastic, steps from Penn Station. Hotel is historic and very grand in the lobby, but the rooms are a little run down, but clean. The staff is super kind and helpful. They let us check in early and check out a little late. Would definitely stay there again. Starbucks is across the street, Liberty Bagels is around the corner. "
"A perfectly fine option if all you need is a place to sleep in between the hustle and bustle of a NYC trip. There's not a lot extra that it offers, especially when a resort fee was thrown in that I had no idea what it was about. Also hated that I had to pay this at check in and not as part of my entire booking on Expedia - this limited my personal spending budget on the actual trip to NYC when I like to pre book hotels in advance and get that cost out of the way.
The experience with the staff was just fine. I do wish we got a smile at least once or any sort of friendly demeanour but hey, who wouldn't be burnt out working in New York?
Rooms were clean but I've been in much cleaner hotels. Bathroom could've used some extra love. "
