My whole experience was jarring though as I hadn't experienced racism directly directed at me in years.....probably over a decade until I came into that town of Abilene, Kansas. I must've been naive thinking that mentality died out years ago. Well, it's still alive and well in Abilene, Kansas."

"We stayed in the caboose for a night heading up to Iowa from AZ. It was just as expected and more. Cute small space with all the amenities youd need for a short stay. Very quiet location off the main road in a heavily treed area outside of town. It was super cool sleeping in an actual caboose. There is a main house a short distance away that can be rented as well. The owner left us a gift card for a coffee shop she owns and that was fantastic as well. Paid for our whole breakfast order! She was super friendly and helpful when Expedia dropped the ball getting us the door code for the second day in a row. You can read all about that on Google. Highly recommend this caboose for a short stay. The rental also comes with access to the country clubs amenities like golf course access, gym and pool."

"As always, my stay was comfortable in a cool, clean and sufficient room. Front desk was pleasant as always. It is a no frills hotel, so don't go expecting room service. However, the room is clean and stocked with clean towels and soaps. I stay here when I work in Abilene and it has never disappointed."
