What can be improved would be two things: - Washroom should have a separate door, having same sliding door for clothing rack means you cant lock the door when you are in washroom - Washroom does not seem to have a good exhaust system, it seems to be pretty slow

My priority was that the room be quiet and it was. It was a double queen bed room on the 2nd floor on a Saturday night.. There was a refrigerator in the room; the bathroom was spotless and the beds very comfortable. I enjoyed a hot breakfast of eggs, ham and fried potatores and good coffee in the morning.

Check in was good. There was a wedding, not at hotel but lots of people staying. We ended up not staying for breakfast because there was nowhere to sit. I did have a problem with the pool. There was a funky smell, sulfur, and it really looks like it needs a good cleaning. We did use it but our suits smelled, not if chlorine, but something after. I soaked them when I got home hopefully will be better.

Room 215 - trash in the bathroom, 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 empty, 1 had 30 sheets, maybe (I have a picture); no washcloths no bath mat towel. two bath towels, so when done with showers used bath towel as a floor towel. Bathroom door did not close (I have picture) Room door, in an accessible room, was extremely hard to open. 1 reading light on the right side of a king bed (I have a picture) TVs did not work in the whole hotel. Could not get free tv, netflix or Apple TV. Slight Animal smell In my opinion, this room should not be reservable. I wanted a room for 1 night. It was $220 - I wish I had reserved at any of the less expensive hotels, as while there may have been issues, it would have been around $100. Room was quiet. And there were 6 hooks in the bathroom - most places have 1. And yes, when I checked out, I listed all the problems and showed the pictures to McKenzie, as the Manager was not in (It was 8am). As it was a 3rd party reservation (they told me when I called to find out how to get the TV to work and was told most of the hotel's TVs had a problem) there was nothing they could do. I have stayed at Hamptons before - never again. For a national brand, I expect a certain standard, like toilet paper, a bathroom door that closes. None of these issues alone is worth complaining about. But there were too many too ignore, especially the bathroom issues. I have no complaints about the front desk, but they couldn't do anything.

We try to stay here whenever we visit family in Menomonie. Front desk staff were efficient and friendly and free bottled water was offered to all. My room was clean and comfortable with a good shower. We used the pool and the water was warm and the area clean. Breakfast was fine and well-attended. I would have given a rating of "excellent" if the communal areas were more well-attended. The pool was short on towels and the key card was not working, replaced with a confusing fob. The only recycling container on my floor was in the ice-vending area near the elevator. In the four days of my stay that container was never emptied. A pizza box sat on top of it, and a plastic water bottle was never removed from a window sill at the end of the hallway. I understand housekeeping positions are hard to fill, but maybe the Hilton Corp. can try paying livable wages for these often thankless jobs. I appreciated all who took care of things during my stay.

We have stayed at the Menomonie Hampton Inn several times without difficulty. When checking in yesterday another guest was complaining that their room hadn't been cleaned (and this was at/after check in time). I should have taken this as an omen. One of our two rooms wasn't cleaned at all, and the other had a dirty shower and housekeeping rag hanging over the shower door. For $200 a night in small town Wisconsin, guests should expect clean rooms as a foundational amenity. We will be staying at alternative lodging in the future.

The common areas were not super clean. The breakfast area was not clean and they ran out of breakfast items one hour before closing. Coffee and hot water were cold before 9 am. Positives: beautiful landscaping and nice area for dogs to be walked. Bathrooms were great only barn style doors did not close completely.
