"The entire place is outdated by more than 5 decades. The cleanliness is awful. They have put no effort into the maintenance of the property and rely solely on location (it’s only perk). Staff is less than tolerable not even giving the vouchers for breakfast we were owed- or when we bought a 4$ water from their vending machine and received tea instead they said to contact the vendor as opposed to giving us a water for exchange.
The heat was not working in the room and it was freezing- the faucets leaked and windows were allowing the cold air to come in. Everything is ancient so the sounds of the city are very loud. The carpet hasn’t been changed (or anything else for that matter) in 50+ years.
Terrible terrible place. Book elsewhere. The location isn’t remotely worth it."
"Clean room, very friendly staff, and doorman went above and beyond. Some of the front desk staff were very friendly, the concierge was non-existent. Very disappointed in room amenities, and lack of room service."
"The hotel needs some work. Lobby looks nice but as soon as you get near elevators you see it’s not very clean and walls are very beat up. Elevators hold maybe 3-4 people and it takes forever to get to your floor. The rooms are dingy and dusty. The A/C sucks and it’s either freezing or hot. No in between. Very loud at night with construction happening all night long. Horrible water pressure in showers. As we were leaving for the airport a worker in the lobby tried to convince us to take a “discounted taxi” through the hotel and took us out to an unmarked SUV and said it would be $75. We said no and took a taxi instead for $60. "
"Mirror light didn't work in the bathroom upon arrival. Only one elevator worked for the entire hotel (apparently this has been going on for years). Had to wait in line 20 minutes to get on an elevator almost every time. Booked through this site and got a good price, but paid at the hotel only to discover a week later that they charged me $160 for food I never ordered and apparently $240 for receiving a package (that never happened). Great location and pretty lobby, but everything else about it I'd give negative stars if I could. Please do you research before booking here! Very scammy."
