"I seriously enjoy staying at The Mariner's. Full of character, very clean, lovely food (generous portions), nice bar and I really cannot speak too highly of the very friendly & helpful staff.

"Fantastic location right on the Esplanade and there was plenty of for parking behind & in front of the hotel. You can see that there has been alot of work/money put into this property. There are loving public areas with large velvet couches to enjoy reading a book etc. The restaurant was large with a good menu.
The room was clean but the bed was very low to the ground with a very soft mattress. Our room was located at the back & overlooked the alleyway, unfortunate we were woken two out of the three mornings at 5am with the truck picking up rubbish or empty bottles and the walls between rooms/hall were certainly not soundproof."
"We had a very good dinner in the pub but needed to leave before the 9:30 breakfast time. The rooms are nicely updated and very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful."

Evening meal and breakfast were excellent, again with great staff members.
Only reason it doesn't get 5* is the sauna was out of action in the spa and the pool is quite small"
"Every requirement ticked for us - extra pillows, great coffee, power points by the bed, hair dryer, air conditioning. Evident sustainability efforts. Large on site car park and walkable into town (15-20 min along river). Restaurant food was very good for a chain pub."
