From when we arrived, the car parking was good with plenty of spaces. The staff were welcoming and very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was great. The room was spacious with excellent facilities. I would definitely stay here again.

I was nervous about this property having booked in a rush and not having read reviews. However upon arrival I found it easy to park and a lovely entrance with beautiful character features. The ladies in reception were friendly and welcoming and they upgraded me to a superior room which I was very pleased with. The room was fantastic with lovely comfortable bed, large tv and walk in rainfall shower. It was overall very clean but some dust around bedframe. The only thing I’d have changed was the size of the towels; I’m not a big person but do prefer a bath sheet not a small towel and these just seemed very small.

My first time staying here and I was not disappointed. There was ample parking along with a lovely beer garden area with good seating and water features. The entrance is a little dimly lit but gives way to tasteful décor and a welcoming reception area as well as a bar. The lady on reception was warm and friendly. My room was on the ground floor which was fortuitous as the sole elevator was not working. The room was really nice with the bathroom providing the piece de resistance with the underheated tile floor which was a first for me. The walk-in shower was amazing and quite therapeutic. They had a 24 hour fitness facility which was quite basic but had enough for a cardio session but couldn't provide a weights workout. They had a couple of work stations although the pec deck was out of order, a good array of dumbells and 2 benches. Unfortunately both of these were flat benches which limited exercises so an adjustable bench would really add value to the stay. A number of dining options both fast food and restaurant were within a 10 minute walk from the hotel which was a great convenience. A great night's sleep followed by a decent cooked breakfast ended a very decent stay where just a couple of improvements would inspire a 5 star rating.

Parking good and nice welcome. Downstairs area very cosy and inviting. Room TV didn't work so moved to another. Decor in rooms tired and dated and sink in room cracked, so does need quite a bit of TLC, but everything clean and bed comfortable. Also breakfast staff very helpful with obtaining something gluten free for my daughter. The continental breakfast was enough. Overall good for what we paid.

The first too we were allocated was dreadful. We didn’t realise how it bad it was upon arrival as we just dumped our bags then went out to meet family not returning until after midnight when realised how dirty the room was and the dreadful state of the mattresses one of which had blood stains on. There was nobody on the desk so we packed ready to vacate the next morning. My teenage daughter was distraught but we had to make the best of it and use the spare duvet to make her as comfortable as we could whereas I didn’t sleep a wink. I was downstairs at 7:30 am and spoke to the day staff a lovely chap who was most apologetic and showed me the room next door to ours which was perfectly acceptable who could not explain why we were out in 316 where I would not expect my dog to stay when room 317 was a clean room with decent beds?
