"Beautiful, serene property with wonderful food, kind and attentive staff, and lovely hot springs-fed pools. Ducks, rabbits and terraced farms add to the peaceful mountain ambiance. I have rarely felt so relaxed. "

"We had a magical time staying at Ban Rai Tin Thai Ngarm Eco Lodge. This is a family run lodge surrounded by their beautiful garden and the mountains, a paradise away from the city. The hosts are the most hospitable people I have ever met, they made us feel welcome immediately. Breakfast was delicious, and the hosts give advice and maps of the area to explore. My only regret is not staying longer, I never wanted to leave. If you are thinking about booking here, do it, you will not regret it!"

"The property did not look like the pictures on Expedia website which seem photoshopped, the sign has fell of the front of the hotel and the hotel room had stains on the walls and roof. The hotel is also part farm and the animals look sick. Maybe this was a nice hotel in the past but now it’s just not fit for purpose."

"Proud Phu Fah Muang, Chiang Mai - A Blissful Nine-Day Retreat
The Proud Phu Fah Muang provided the perfect sanctuary for a relaxing nine-day stay in Chiang Mai. This isn't your typical central city hotel; it's a beautifully designed, nature-immersed retreat that feels both remote and conveniently located. It strikes a remarkable balance between rustic tranquility and modern luxury.
Room and Comfort (5/5)
We opted for a Luxury Suite, and the room was a highlight of the trip. Designed with thoughtful local craftsmanship, the space felt cozy, homey, and incredibly clean. The bedding was exceptional—a truly comfortable bed and pillows ensured a deep, restful sleep every night. Our room featured a bathtub on the balcony, which quickly became a ritualistic spot for unwinding in the evening while enjoying the peaceful sounds of the surrounding garden and stream. The attention to detail, from the lovely teakwood furniture to the well-stocked minibar and excellent air conditioning, made the room a genuine pleasure to return to.
Service and Staff (5/5)
For a long stay, consistent service is crucial, and the Proud Phu Fah team excelled. Every staff member, from reception to the restaurant crew, was professional, genuinely friendly, and exceptionally helpful. Their promptness in assisting with transportation (which is necessary given the hotel’s location) and their cheerful demeanor truly enhanced the atmosphere. They made us feel less like guests and more like welcomed residents "
"This hotel experience is not reflective of the price and we checked out several days early as had quite simply had enough. It has the potential to be really good but it needs a lot of investment: main issues were: the shower in bathroom not fit for purpose, a cold trickle that did not improve throughout stay, pool looked cold and unclean - no guests used this throughout our time there. Breakfast was similarly cold and badly cooked/poor ingredients. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere (this is just an observation as not something that can be rectified) but this meant every trip out and back led to arguments with taxi drivers who wanted double the app set price as they didn’t think it worth their time otherwise. Everything is very dated. The atmosphere of the hotel was depressing, I saw just several other people sitting in silence eating their breakfasts, looking into the distance and I think, wondering like me, when their pain and suffering would be over.
The hotel is not reflective of the pictures or the other reviews in my opinion so I would tread carefully when booking, "
