"We'd stayed here in the past and were very satisfied. This time, however, we saw rats twice in walkway areas around the pool (right near rooms and actually ON the walkways), which we mentioned to staff, who came out to look and saw them too. We were essentially told that, yes, rats were around the grounds. Not a very comforting answer and no indication of anything being done.
Our very dimly lit, ground-floor handicapped room opened directly onto the back parking lot where the immediate grounds weren't very clean, was rather noisy, and didn't feel especially safe. And they charge now for parking, which we knew when we booked, but was still a bit disappointing considering it was free to guests before.
It's still a reasonably pleasant hotel, with cute common area decor; maybe that particular week was just a glitch? The pool itself is still wonderful!"
