"The JR Metropolitan Hotel is excellent – and an excellent value for the money. The hotel is extremely convenient – right at the Sendai JR Main Station – but I’ve never found it noisy from the trains or otherwise. The rooms are clean and the service is excellent. The breakfast is decent – good enough to go with the convenience. However, as you are right at the Main JR station which includes an “SPAL” shopping area with many food choices, those who are a little adventurous will find many good (and less expensive) options. In sum, an excellent hotel where I look forward to staying again."

"Great base to explore Sendai from, right near sendai station and clis road shopping arcade. 30-40 minute walk from the mausoleum and castle. Great facilites, but bear in mind, this is a local spot. Not in a trendy way. Local spot for salary men and college kids to bathe bathe after work/school. Wouldnt reccomend for large groups/ partygoers, as the baths get quite crowded during peak hours. Also, those who dont like a firm matress might have a hard time sleeping. "

"Overall, the property was perfect. I would consider Sotetsu Fresa Inn Sendai a more upscale Japanese business hotel. Room was clean and modern with a good selection of amenities. It's just a short walk from Sendai Station and conveniently located near many restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, breakfast is not complimentary but there are many breakfast options in the surrounding area. I found a cheap onigiri shop just around the corner from the hotel for just 150 yen each and the portions were generous, better than the ones at the convenience stores. There is also Asaichi Market, which I recommend taking a stroll through. "

"In general, most accommodations in Japan are well managed. However staff at Hotel Grand Beach shown exceptional problem solving skills and willingness to find alternative solutions for the needs of customers. Frontdesk staff, Yamazaki H, helped me called delivery service for an odd size item, which other accommodation have told me no can’t do. End result was I don’t have to carried the item on and off the Shinkansen for next three days of travel. Thank you Yamazaki-san "
