"The rooms are not as advertised. I booked a sea and pool view room but could not see either as there was a huge tree outside the balcony blocking the view. It is advertised as having free wifi but there is no wifi anywhere apart from in reception. They said they were upgraded it but there was none to upgrade.They were in the process of installing it. They also advertise a 40" tv with cable channels. The tv was about 28" and only had one local channel. My husband was recuperating after an operation so wanted wifi and tv. The hotel eventually moved us after a complaint to Expedia and gave us a router. Still we had no tv despite being promised every day that we would have it. The staff had no interest in the comfort of guests. There are glass panels between the rooms and the hall, so light emitted into the room all night. The pool was lovely and the pool.guy was very helpful. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. You do not get what you pay for."

"Vi blev uppgraderade till ett större rum helt utan kostnad. Rummet var jättefint och välstädat. Gillade att det fanns balkong och minikyl. God mat på restaurangen och mysig miljö. Personalen, framförallt en kille va supertrevlig och hjälpte oss ringa runt när min mobil gått sönder för att få tag på flygbiljetterna. Han bokade även taxi till oss när vi skulle åka till Colombo. Rekommenderar verkligen "

"Clean hotel, breakfast was ok not a lot of choice other than local food, no laundry service but options available outside in Hikkaduwa. Pool area is compact."

"I had a great stay at Royal Beach Hikkaduwa. Room was very clean and staff was very friendly. View from the hotel was just amazing. Just in front of the main surf point and you can watch surfers every evening while enjoying a cold beer. Food at their Lumina beach restaurant and bar was excellent. I had cocktails also. They had live music sessions and they also have 50% cocktails happy hour every day from 05:30 -06:30pm. Nothing beats watching surfers with a cocktail in hand. I’d definitely recommend this place and will be back again."

"Lovely location and you can walk straight onto the beach where you can spot giant turtles swimming. Room was spacious with ocean front balcony, bathroom clean but tired. Good breakfast buffet with plenty of options. Great base for visiting Galle as well. Plenty of shops and restaurants outside. Friendly and helpful staff."

"A brilliant stay in a brilliant little hotel/ villa right on the beach. Excellent friendly staff, great food and lovely friendly ‘house dog’”Sudi” This place is a real gem and at the quieter end of the beach which suited us perfectly. Don’t even hesitate to book this place 10/10"

"Our little family had an amazing stay at Riff. The beach is beautiful, rooms are good (the cleaning of the rooms is super!), food is delicious! You can hear the waves from the ocean which is so nice to fall asleep to. You can go see the turtles and Turtle beach (5 minute Tuk Tuk), and snorkling. The staff is incredible and our 7 month baby Charlie was so well taken care off (they even fixed food for her!). Special thank to Benischa and the gang in the restaurant, Charlie misses you already!
