"We had an amazing stay. As a regular traveller I have stayed in many resorts, hotels and holiday rentals Kurulu Estate is top notch and one of the most tranquil and relaxing places I have stayed. It is very secluded, with only two rooms on the property. It is in the jungle overlooking the mountains. This place really is a treasure. "We spoilt ourselves with 2 nights in Ahas Pokuna. This is a truly special place. Greeted at the road side by Arun our naturalist guide we were immediately enveloped in the forest following a footpath (truly the only access) leading us up the the very exclusive camp. We were the only guest and had the middle of three tent suites/tree houses. The beautifully maintained grounds of the camp are full of birds and the staff are always attentive. "Such a lovely little place to stay for the night. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were so kind and lovely, the home cooked food was some of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. They also arranged a safari for us, we had a jeep to ourselves, and saw many animals (elephants, monkeys, mongoose). All in all a fabulous experience, and incredible value for money. "

"We would probably not recommend Athgira. We stayed for just one night, but that was enough. The issues for us were that the WiFi was practically non-existent, the shower was cold and never got hot or even luke warm, the fruit and baked goods were left uncovered at breakfast so they were swarmed with flies, when we put the mosquito net down it let out a stench that suggested it had never been washed (we didn’t end up using it), and there was no safe or lockable cupboard or any way to secure the...
