"We had a very enjoyable stay at Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile, which is well located for exploring the city while still feeling calm once you are inside. The Club Lounge on the 22nd floor is worth considering if you are booking. The team there were consistently attentive, and Ahmed in particular made us feel very welcome. The food offering in the lounge was good quality. The sushi, when available, was very popular, and the mango juice is a must try. It was fresh and genuinely excellent. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a very good shower and plenty of space to relax after busy days sightseeing. Breakfast on the 3rd floor has a much wider selection than the lounge, with plenty of hot and cold options. It can get busy at peak times and clearing of tables was sometimes slow, so going slightly earlier may make for a smoother experience. We ate twice at Kamala, the Asian restaurant, and would recommend the sushi promotion. The chef tailored the sushi to our preferences, which made it feel more personalised and good value for what you receive. The pool area is calm and the water is heated, which is helpful in cooler months. It is a good space to unwind after sightseeing. I also had a 50 minute massage in the spa. It is on the expensive side compared to local prices, but convenient if you prefer to stay within the hotel. "There was nothing not to love about this hotel. Friendly staff, varied and delicious breakfasts, a house reef to keep the most avid of snorkelers entertained, spacious clean rooms ( a bit dated but everything works ). Loved the location, slightly out of the hustle and bustle of Naama Bay but close enough to walk to. Every external taxi driver we used commented on the Stella di Mare being a “very good hotel”, I guess their clients all rave about their stays at the Stella Di Mare and rightly so. "

"This is an exceptional hotel. . It's very conveniently situated near the Pyramids and new Grand Egyptian Museum. It thoroughly deserves it's 5* rating But what makes it special is the staff. Without exception welcoming, smiling and gracious. Always looking to make sure your stay is perfect. I will return, if only to relax by the pool ! This is a true Oasis. "

"The Ramses was a great hotel but if you want to just go for a walk outside your hotel. The Ramses is on a busy main freeway and you can cross the street but if you have never been in Cairo. They have a saying in Cairo... if you want to cross the street... take a taxi... theere areno cross walks. People just cross infront of the traffic . Crazy traffic in Cairo. "
