"In America if a rooms are ready they let you check in early without paying extra costs."

"I experienced a concerning electrical issue in my room that I reported to staff immediately. There was a loud crackling sound coming from the outlet area, which made me worried about a potential electrical hazard or fire risk. I informed the front desk right away and was told the issue would be taken care of. However, when I returned several hours later, nothing had been addressed and the problem was still occurring. After raising the concern again with the late-night manager and explaining how serious it seemed, an electrician was finally called. In the meantime, fans were brought to the room as a temporary solution, but they weren’t helpful since the outlets themselves were not working. At one point the manager attempted to troubleshoot the outlet herself using a metal utensil, which was concerning given the situation. I actually had to stop her because it could have been dangerous. The issue was eventually fixed, but the delay in addressing what seemed like a serious electrical problem made the experience stressful and left me feeling unsafe in the room. I was very close to checking out and finding another hotel because of it. I was also disappointed with the bathroom setup, as the shower design causes the entire bathroom floor to get wet whenever it’s used. The location is great, but unfortunately the way this situation was handled really impacted my stay. I hope management takes safety concerns like this more seriously in the future and follows up appropriately."

"The location was good - near enough to Town Hall station and to the many Darling Harbour restaurants, ferries and other tourist amenities. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The room was well-equipped and comfortable. The view from the windows wasn't great, but that's the price you may pay for a hotel located in a big city. I woyuld definitely consider the Park Royal for any future stays in Sydney."

"For the price, you’re better off staying at the Aiden down the road. Same price for a brand new property. Ibis was dated and for $450 a night I’d expect something a little better quality. "

"I was there on conference. I had my twin grandchildren and their mother with me. I was surprised to find the hotel so unaccomodating. Every request was very reluctantly handled. I needed extended ours. The conference started at 9.30, in Novotel. Checkin was 3pm? more than half the day gone. I needed the room at 9am. Babies needed to be fed and changed and put to sleep. I requested this when I booked BUT... they made a big fuss. Nonroom was ready to go into until after 1pm. My daughter had to sit in the lobby and try tend her babies and keep them quiet etc for half a day! They also carried on about an extra charge. Same thing at checkout. No extension unless I paid more. I was already paying $430/ night. Conference went to 5.30pm. What were we supposed to do with babies after 12 noon? I would not stay there again."
