Pharos Hvar Bayhill Hotel

"Our stay at Pharos was perfect! It was exactly what we hoped for during our stay in Hvar. The highlights included the breakfast buffet, which was large and full of delicious options, the pool and pool bar, and the proximity to town and beaches nearby. a few things to keep in mind, to reach the hotel by foot you will be walking uphill - a very easy walk uphill in our opinion but an uphill nonetheless, they do offer baggage pickup and drop off at the Hvar ferry port if you are coming in/ out on one of the public scheduled ferries! Very helpful for us with heavy backpacks. Another thing to note is that because it is at the top of a hill, it gets a little windier there than by the beach. So if it is hot by the beach, we found that the sun was still really warm by the pool but the wind cooled you down. We were travelling right before peak season so we can imagine it being perfect in the summer!"

"My fiance and I loved our say at Amfora Hvar grand beach resort! We arrived at the property early and the front desk was very accommodating with storing our bags and allowing us to use the pool prior to check in. We laid at the pool and got lunch for a few hours until our room was ready, which was still 2 hours before check-in. The pool has a nice resort vibe and pool staff were fairly attentive with drink orders. Our room appeared to be newly renovated- it was clean, beautifully decorated with an impressive bathroom. We appreciated the mini bar and the bathroom stocked with toiletries. We did not hear our neighbors. The hotel restaurant/bar has a wonderful patio overlooking the pool and Adriatic sea. Although we just had the focaccia appetizer, it was some of the best bread and olive oil of our entire trip. The resort even has a shuttle service for bags for the nearby ferry, so your bags will be dropped off allowing you to walk the short 10 minutes to the ferry port/town uninhibited with your bags. the cherry on top was the breakfast buffet! It had endless options of food and drink with floor to ceiling windows of the amazing view. We wish we had stayed here for more than 1 night and hope to go back!"

"The room was not ready when I arrived. They put me in another room and did not update in their system, so this caused later issues. I was in the spa from 9:30 to 1pm and my room was not cleaned. I complained and they gave me free drinks in the bar. I returned to the room 2 hours later and it still was not clean. A manager had to get involved. The room condition was poor. Maintenance does not seem to be consistent at this property. The elevator kept going to floor 5 and staff knew about it for some time, I found out. Check in was slow, and no perks were offered even though the hotel was not full. A general lack of attention to detail in general. I had 2 spa days, 2 meals at the hotel, and stayed in a junior suite, but no awareness of priority guests was observed. It could have been a positive experience, but it was not. The spa therapists were both very good. The only bright spot. I didn't stay for breakfast because the clean table I sat at was actually dirty even though it was set. Again, just attention to detail missing. Unfortunate. I would not return."
