"This family owned hotel is very welcoming and warm! The breakfast was very good and with a good variety of fresh fruits. The bed was comfortable. Take note that some rooms are ground-level and you will only know which room you will have upon arrival. We chose the mountain view but we got our room on the ground level, so from the balcony you can't really see it due to the vegetation. "

"Beautiful spot but the room had mold everywhere (curtains, walls, ceiling) and there was black mold in the shower. Breakfast was ok but nothing was labeled and as a vegetarian I wasn’t sure what had meat or not. We ended up checking out early "

"Whoever issues this sort of review request should check carefully before sending it. We were not able to stay at the Retreat because our flights to Vietnam were cancelled because of the war in Iran. We knew that the Retreat booking was not cancellable, but they would not offer us credit towards a future stay if we manage to re-arrange this once in a lifetime holiday. All we can say is that the Retreat was the most expensive of the places we were due to stay on our travels and therefore would hope that it lived up to the cost. We wish them well but are not likely to go there when we finally get to Vietnam. "

"I had a great stay. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Rooftop infinity pool was perfect, and was a bonus to have all to myself, great view of the mountains and some rice fields blowing in the wind. My room also had a great view of the mountains, large windows even in the bathroom. Great location just outside of town (5 minute grab ride to town) yet very close to some attractions, was a very nice break from the chaos. Wish I stayed longer, but i just used it as a stop over before an 8 am train ride the next day. Breakfast was great, with lots of options and fresh fruit. Staff was going above and beyond to make sure I had enough to eat before my 11 hour train ride. Overall a wonderful place "

"Not a huge choice in Breakfast menu but completely adequate. Did have options of freshly made eggs such as scrambled or fried etc as most we have seen. Friendly staff and helpful when required. The little bungalow room was ideal, really nice and clean, not a huge amount of space and a bit tight on suitcase space when just travelling for a few nights but no drama. Was within a 600m walk to centre of tam cóc which was fine, easy walk and nice to be a short way out of the bustle. Overall we were really happy with the stay and would recommend to others"
