Northland Lodge

"An old-world type of accommodation in every way. The decor is vintage in a homey way -- no overdone antique frills. The Lodge was originally a private home, and bedrooms while small, do have private bathrooms. The hostess was extremely friendly and chatty, and joined guests at breakfast time in the living room, where lodgers shared experiences over coffee and freshly baked muffins. While out of the mainstream touristy area of the town, it is only by a short walk to excellent restaurants, boat tours, lakeside strolls, and shops. A truly unique find!"

"This is the most I’ve ever paid for a 3 night hotel stay. Expected a bit more luxurious. The suite was actually quite comfy, beds were great, a good sofa to watch tv which was nice sized, the heater worked well (damp, chilly weather). The bay view from the balcony was nearly non-existent since trees blocked the view. Bathroom was quite small. The stairs were frightening to this senior (no elevator). The building could use a paint job. Overall, overpriced!"
