"We had a lovely relaxing weekend break. Such a beautiful and peaceful location. Chris and Tracey were very warm and welcoming. The cake was a nice surprise. We took our dog, and he really enjoyed himself. The rooms are all large so plenty of room for him to lie down, and we had the use of a field to walk him in. "
"The wifi is not great. So if you are planning to have some office work, I recommend take 5G device with you. Vodafone 4G worked for us but if you sit near the window.
The cottage is nice and as advertised. However, 2 things don't do in its favor: 1) The cottage is surrounded by amazing view but the cottage itself has no view ( the windows open to the street and house opposite). It is bit boring if you plan to spend day inside or on rainy day.
2) The Clun itself has nothing much except for...

"Lovely staff, beautiful grounds, spacious room to a fairly high standard. Dog friendly: in the bar area only, but that is just as nice as the main restaurant."
"I booked the hotel to stay in for 3 nights with my daughter whilst I was playing in the Pickleball English Open in Telford. I always look for a pool and looking at some of the reviews this was a bit of a gamble, however it definitely paid off !
Yes, the hotel is a little dated and could do with some investment, however, it was clean, the suite size was very good and the price was great value. The pool was pretty awesome. It is in a separate wooden building and was really warm, with a jacuzzi. The steam room was out of action, but the sauna wasn't and was also great. We somehow managed to use the pool twice a day, every day.
I come to Telford pretty regularly, and this will now be the hotel I will book every time."

10/10 Excellent
"We loved our stay, the griunds ste OUTSTANDING & we had a fab talk with your gardener who is doing an excellent job. Your check in staff member was so welcoming & informative. He greeted us every time we passed by, checking all was well & always with a smile. He was working Monday so we couldnt thank him & say goodbye. The young man on the bar and serving breakfast was also outstanding so polite, helpful and interested. Again he wasnt in Monday morning for us to grab his name (BUT his friend had won a gold medal on Sunday). Please pass on our grateful thanks he is an asset to the team & will go far, excellent customer service.
We were disappointed the jacuzzi wasnt working but that was our only disappointment in 3 nights at the hotel. Thank you for a lovely relaxing break & keep up the eco friendly efforts 👌"
"Excellent service from check in to check out, rooms were big, rooms were serviced everyday and althoigh i didn't have dinner at the hotel the breakfast was excellent. Managed to use the gym, pool and steam room whilst staying at the hotel. When staying in Telford again i will make sure i book again at the Mercure. Very close to shops, restaurants and even a cinema across the road!"
"Stayed here for 1 night. The staff greeted us on arrival and check-in was swift and easy. We were shown to our room and all instructions given.
There was a music event on all day which was a fantastic surprise. The atmosphere was brilliant.
The food was fantastic on both days. Especially the Sunday roast which was cooked to perfection with the best gravy I have ever tasted.
All of the staff were hard working, attentive and polite. But a special thanks to Nick and Ella who were especially helpful.
We would definitely recommend Cromwells Tap House for a stay. We will definitely be back."
