Costa del Sol

Travel Guide

A coastal town with a stone wall, beach umbrellas, and rocky cliffs.
A narrow street with outdoor seating, a bell tower, and a tiled pavement.
A cobblestone path, a wrought iron fence, and a mountainous landscape in the background.
A scenic overlook with a view of a valley, mountains, and a stone building with arches.
A beach with umbrellas, a boat, and a rocky cliff with houses.

The Costa del Sol offers both tranquillity and fun, in surroundings that have been recognised worldwide for its leisure offerings as well as its famous visitors.

Enjoy a holiday in the Costa del Sol, one of the most prestigious tourist coastlines in Europe. The Costa del Sol covers a group of towns from the province of Malaga to Campo de Gibraltar in Cádiz, and receives more than a third of all tourists to Andalusia. Sports lovers will enjoy its ideal location for water activities, while those who seek sophistication can play on any of the more than 70 golf courses in the area, mainly located between the towns of Mijas and Estepona. Horse fans can head to any of the many equestrian centres in the area the Hipódromo Costa del Sol is one of the area’s most iconic attractions, with over 3.7 acres of open space looking directly over the tracks, and stands with 2,500 seats.

When you’re enjoying a holiday deal to the Costa del Sol, be sure to take time out to relax on its beaches. Spanning just under 100 miles, it isn’t easy to choose the best one: Burriana, Torreblanca, La Rada, Los Álamos and a never-ending series of areas of great natural beauty.

If you’d like more to do than the typical sun and beach activities, check out the cultural offerings. The best option is to go to the capital of the Costa del Sol, Malaga. If you decide on a package holiday to the Costa del Sol, Malaga offers great architectural beauty, with highlights such as the Alcazaba Fort, the Roman Theatre, which you’ll find at its feet, the Cathedral, Castillo de Gibralfaro and the Atarazanas shipyards. Art lovers will already know that Malaga is the birthplace of an iconic artist, and will definitely want to visit the Picasso Museum, located in the beautiful Renaissance palace of Buenavista, which dates back to the 16th century.

Head to the Costa del Sol and enjoy its excellent climate: over 300 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of nearly 20 degrees. Get ready to enjoy this spectacular destination!
