"Very quiet resort right on highway 61. Great view of Lk Superior right from the motel room. Enjoyed the firepit. The room was extremely musty, which bothered me a lot - my hair reeked of it. But it was clean, with a newer bathroom. Water was very hard - not recommended to drink. Unique historical perspective and convenient for skiers & hikers."

"My husband and I were traveling along the Lake Superior Circle Drive and this was by far our favorite place that we stayed on our 8 day trip. We only wished we had planned to stay more than one night!! It's a beautiful place, incredibly charming and clean. The desk staff could not have been nicer and the restaurant next door was convenient and food was delicious. Can't say enough about our stay."

"Location is incredible: outside the hustle and bustle of Gramd Marais. Yet very close to getting there for hiking, shopping, and dining! Sauna was intensely relaxing. Only bummer was the lack of advertised s’mores supplies the ONE evening (out of for) that we tried to do it."

"For being an older drive-up motor inn our room was very clean and well maintained. Linens were not drabby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was " ok." It had mostly prepackaged items, which I feel is safe."
