10/10 Excellent
"The most amazing room with a view! Very dog friendly with easy access to the beach. Great staff and breakfast.
Although we didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening - It had a great buzz.
First time here and it won’t be our last!
Thank you team Pedn Olva "
"Lovely clean room, excellent power shower and super deep bath. Very helpful staff and a great atmosphere throughout. We enjoyed the pool and the spa facial and massage were fabulous. It seemed to be a place where guests returned several times, and we could see why. Great place for a Cornish break. We'd definitely stay again."
"Breakfast has been scaled down in selection, quality & service and seemed disorganised.
Also, as a vegan, there is very little available on the buffet table though I acknowledge they offer a cooked vegan breakfast which is good if you want hot.
The granola which I like had run out & I couldn't find a member of staff free to inform them so went without.
It would be a thoughtful touch if biscuits in the room were dairy & egg free just to cater fr a wider clientele. "
"Had a poor experience at this hotel I would not visit again I checked in 31st March had a long drive down the woman on the reception was not helpful at all we checked in slightly earlier but she just said check in is 3pm I get that I’ve travelled the world my point is she was just rude she couldn’t even suggest in waiting in the lobby, I had to take all my cases back to the car as there is no direct car park for this hotel which is another joke no one tells you this till you arrive so they take your keys away we don’t know where it gets parked and they keep the keys, well I wasn’t going to let that happen.
Went for dinner that night the guy that welcomed us was very nice and welcoming as for the other staff which really let’s this places down are very lazy not pro active I asked for 2 cocktails a pornstar Martini I’ve never seen a pot rat martini served like this before was so watered down and the presentation was poor, dinner was good apart from the desert chocalte pudding more like rock hard straight out the freezer when asked the waiter he said he would let the chef know that’s no good like I said poor customer service let’s thisplaced down then at brekkie my chair broke in front of everyone again the staff are not active at all so lazy I had to ask if I could move tables and then on top of that we had to wait for our cooked breakfast over 30 mins bearing in mind the hotel is not busy yet so I dread to think what it would’ve like at peak
My Tv in room and internet crap "
"Undergoing a refurbishment but its an absolutely gorgeous hotel. Some money being poured into it though.
Lovely rooms and public areas and the breakfast was brilliant. Staff all very friendly and professional. Will definitely return."
"Breakfast is good. Jacuzzi & Sauna is nice although I can imagine that this can be too small and limited on a busy season. Gym equipments is just enough for someone who don't really want to skip a day in a gym."
"Despite being a dog-friendly hotel, it was clean. There were also no hairs whatsoever under rhe bedsheets on arrival. There was some wear and tear, such as a broken bedside table drawer which had been glued together poorly, some wear and tear in the bathroom, on wardrobes. The view over the sea was lovely, and the room was enormous (2 bunk beds and a king bed - sleep 6 room, we went as a couple with 2 young children). The room was quite quiet, it was warm. The hotel was very childfriendly for younger children, with multiple kids movies showing at the little cinema (we did not go as we have our own home projector setup and had seen all the movies showing), the pool looked nice, and there was a soft play area, plus some free games and paid pool table (£1/play). The breakfast food was okay, the vegan burger at the restaurant was nice. There's a lovely ice-cream shop not far - called Freddo's - it's a short 5 min drive/ 20 min walk on a nice weather day, with a very pleasant staff and delicious cornish ice creams. ChatGPT reccomended we go there and it didn't disappoint, and I make my own ice cream at home. I'd happily stay at this hotel again, despite not owning a dog, nor wanting to, so don't be put off by dogs, because Newquay in general is extremely dog-friendly anyway and you'll see loads everywhere.
