"The Arlo has a lot of pros: great location, stylish decor, efficiently designed rooms. And the rooftop bar is lovely. However, its cons are numerous. The rooms are dated. The windowshade was tattered and dirty. The carpet was stained. The staff is impatient and unfriendly (not even a hello when we walked in just an unsmiling face asking “Yeah?”). When you pick up the phone, you get an AI agent that doesn’t follow up on requests. We had to text the request again to get service. The hotel charges a daily urban fee that includes water. We never got water on the first two days of our stay. We had to ask on text to have the water delivered. The rest of the urban fee includes standard hotel amenities, making the fee seem like just a way to nickel and dime guests. The best hotels prioritize hospitality. But unfriendly staff, nickel and diming, and dated rooms: these make Arlo hardly worth a stay. We’ve stayed here twice but we will not be booking again."
