"The Riu Fisherman's Wharf was everything we needed: one block from the Wharf, a short 2 blocks to Ghirardelli Square, and convenient to satisfy the reason for our stay - the Monet and Venice exhibition at the de Young Museum. Something we rarely do - had breakfast everyday of our stay in SF at the Riu... and everyday it was excellent!"

"The hotel is in very good shape, all clean, has all amenities; Parking in garage was expensive at $49/night and was not included in price. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS THAT THEY DID NOT TELL US IF YOU ARE NEXT TO ELEVATORS YOU WILL GET TERRIBLE NOISE ALL NIGHT LONG!! (EVERY 5 -20 SECONDS THE WALLS SEEMED TO SHAKE AND NOISE WAS CRAZY LOUD. INITILLY WE THOUGHT IT IS FROM THE NOISY STREET AND IT WILL DIE DOWN LATER AT NIGHT. AS A RESULT WE COULD NOT SLEEP AT ALL AND WE HAD IMPORTANT MEETING EARYLY NEXT MORNING THAT IS THE REASON FOR TWO STARS SO KNOW IF YOU STAY HERE, DO NOT ACCEPT A ROOM CLOSE TO ELEVATORS !!!!"

"Im not the one to complain usually, but this one really was bad. I booked this place because it was so close to North beach and had walking access to beautiful part of the town and it had 9.2 rating. The place is very beat up, with duct tapes in front of the elevators, one of the elevators smelled like weed and the other like urine. The bathtub was not properly cleaned and had long human hair on the walls. The room smelled like cleaning material (like disinfectant). The experience got worse when the alarm clock went off at mid-night and I had to ramble to unplug it. Then came the worse part which was a car alarm (one of the vehicles parked by the valet team in the middle of the parking, in the middle of the hotel where all our windows were exposed to) went ofd at 4 am and continued until my departure time at 8 am. Terrible experience. i do not recommend "

"We arranged a surprise 30th Birthday celebration at the Tonga Room for our son and stayed overnight. The hotel and the rooms are gorgeous. We were upgraded to a corner room in the Tower and the views of the City were unparalleled. It was an incredible experience all round"
