"Very friendly Staff. Lobby was very nicely designed and well kept. Fresh clean scent. Room was clean with a great view of the pretty courtyard snd mountains. Comfortable bed, TV, mini fridge and microwave. Older Hotel but very nice. Felt like we were in Switzerland as it is unique. A block away from the beach street was super nice and quiet. "

"We drive up to Canada a few times a year & every year we try to go to the Richmond Night Market. Our usual stays have always been in Richmond & Burnaby. This time we wanted to try Langley/Surrey because of how affordable it is compared to the other 2 places. It’s about a 40 minute drive to the Night Market around 6pm-ish but overall not bad! The hotel was nice and clean. The casino is also not overwhelmingly loud and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We loved how slow the pace is in Langley & how convenient it is to local parks & restaurants. Surrey is also close and there’s so many amazing Filipino restaurants there! We would recommend OEB Breakfast Co. for brunch & Mr. Siopao for dinner! 2 of the best restaurants we are looking forward to going back and it’s close to the hotel!"

"The only thing I would suggest is that for older people of those with decreased mobility is that they are offered a room close to elevator. There are very few elevators and the place feels like a bit of a maze so it was a bit too much for my mum who is 89. I’m sure they would have changed our room but we were only there for a night and had unloaded before we realised we should have requested closer to elevator . Everyone was very helpful. Oh, one other thing….the evening buffet is not well advertised and no price shown . We went and it was wonderful , great value and great variety . "

"If you like character and history this is the place for you. However, if you like shiny new things that glean with stainless steel and glass this is not for you. My wife and I stayed one night on our way from Kamloops to Vancouver airport. We had driven past Chilliwack a number of times and finally decided to check it out. The Royal Hotel is much more interesting than the generic accommodations you get near the airport. It is a step back into the past, with a lobby that is almost unchanged from its 1908 beginnings. There are lots of fascinating original furnishings, and one imagines all the feet that have trodden the original floors. This would not be the place for the Holiday Inn ("no surprises") kind of guest as there is a feeling of being lived in but that was part of the hotel's charm for us. We arrived quite late, and rang the bell to be admitted by a very friendly concierge we could call on at any time. Linens, towels and the room were clean. The floor was creaky, the bath was actually in the bedroom and you could almost hear the ghosts in the attic. We loved all that character. It's situated slap in the middle of the downtown which is charming with great care taken in restoring the old buildings. When we were there (June 2024) the restaurant was closed awaiting a new tenant so we enjoyed our breakfast at the Uptown Grill in the restored downtown instead. "
