Me and my girlfriend had a great time, we stayed one night it could've been cleaner but the scenery was great the staff was super friendly and helpful! Maggie Valley is a wonderful town about 30minutes from the Cherokee Casino and about 40minutes from Asheville. There was some good local restaurants and the hotel even had it's own grill with a band which stopped playing around 10pm on Saturday. Theres also some cool gift shops and souvenir shops, overall a really relaxing and laid back area.

For the most part we enjoyed our stay and would come back. I don’t think the floors were swept during our stay at all. We had 3 beds in our room and only 2 beds were ever made the 3rd was never touched. And the bathroom counter was broke off and duct tape back. There was gas logs in our room and after a day of motorcycle riding in the cold rain it would have been nice to warm up by the fire. But the gas had been turned off to save the property money although I am sure my room cost did not get reduced for not being able to use all the amenities the from had to offer. An item had been forgotten in the room after check. The office hours stated 9 to midnight but nobody ever answers the phone

We walked up and the guy says “ could you wait I am waiting for a phone call.” So we waited about ten minutes and then he checks us in and says here is your room key if you room is t that way then check the other building. I am unsure where it is “ never seen the staff again. The rooms are very old and there are no options to watch tv . Like unless you log into your own account which we do not have any. It displays a river setting out back. But it was riddled with trash , broken beer bottles and such. Just not worth our money for sure ! Very disappointed

We knew that we had selected a old motel property, so we did not expect a chain motel experience. However, one of the cooling/heating units put out no heat (it was chilly and rainy during our stay), even after I had to get the manager to come and fix it (it had tripped a breaker simply by being used!). Beds were clean and comfortable. Small refrigerator would freeze ANYTHING you put inside. No ice available, so we had to go buy ice /cooler to keep things cold but not frozen. We were not terribly messy, so the fact that there was no housekeeping apparent for two days was not a BIG deal, but it was noticed. Property conditions were horrible: broken appliances/etc. at rear of property so when you went to visit the creek area, it was very "junky". Large trash can outside entrance to the interior rooms was full the afternoon we arrived and STILL unemptied three days later. Weeds/cigarette butts/trash blowing around. Office staff seemed to be a family unit, but the younger members sat there on their devices doing nothing when there is PLENTY of cleaning needing to be done! Man I assume to be manager was pleasant but seemed like job/interactions were drudgery. On the positive side, grill and bar staff were GREAT! Food was good, but it only offers pub food, but that is fine. Wings and breaded mushrooms were really good! We would NOT stay here again..there are many choices of "motels" in Maggie Valley, so don't choose this one at ANY price.
