The Potter's Heron - A Heartwood Inn

The Potter's Heron - A Heartwood Inn

8/10 Good
"Beautifully and recently renovated property with luxurious rooms, loads of nice details and small touches. Breakfast was good, dinner a bit hit and miss. Interesting menu and generally tasty but at £95 for two (without alcohol) it didn’t always meet expectations and a couple of dishes were a let down. Would happily revisit the chain for bed and breakfast."

"Good hotel, great location for what we wanted. Reception staff were all brilliant but the housekeeping staff were miserable, I’m used to walking down the hallways of hotels and the housekeeping staff would always smile and greet you, not in this hotel, plus we put the card on our door to be refreshed everyday of our stay and not once was it touched. Luckily we don’t make a mess but grandson missed out on his daily biscuits."

Hilton Southampton - Utilita Bowl

Hilton Southampton - Utilita Bowl

8/10 Good
"We initially booked this hotel because the photos featured a swimming pool. Upon arrival, however, we learned the pool isn't included in the booking as it's managed independently by another company for an extra fee. While we were willing to pay, we then discovered our young daughter wasn't allowed access, which was a major disappointment for our family. The standard room was quite disappointing for a Hilton property, showing visible stains on the carpet and noticeable wear and tear. It was bad enough that we requested a room change; upgrading to a Junior Suite made a world of difference and was much nicer. Breakfast was average. The bacon was tough to eat, and the fresh fruit lacked flavor. On a positive note, the dining staff were exceptionally warm, welcoming, and friendly. If you enjoy cricket or golf, the location is a real highlight. Our room featured a lovely balcony overlooking the cricket pitch, allowing us to watch a live game during our stay. Reception staff were generally professional, though a few felt a bit cold. Overall, without the Junior Suite upgrade, the hotel feels rather average."
