Charleston hotel rooms a the Preferred

"Glad they had did renovations, much better than last time. I did not like paying for parking. I did not do breakfast."

"Excellent location. Old facility but updated particularly the bathroom. High end room was small. Continental breakfast small but ok. No signage to find check in/parking . Staff generally good except the valet parking attendant who did not offer to load our luggage into the car. Fire alarm forced us out onto the street one evening - false alarm I guess. Crying baby across the hall clearly heard in our room . Rate between ok and good. Would look for a better place for the price."

"Property needs to be updated. Faucet didn't drain. Tub leaked. Carpets not clean. Receptionist was rude but some others were very nice. Location was good. Breakfast was pretty good. When we first arrived they assigned us to a room across from a room affected by an electrical fire. There was trash and blowers in the hall. They did move us but just down the hall and everything we walked to the elevator eyes watered from smoke fumes."

"Room was exceptionally small. Poor privacy-we could hear the guests in the room next to us. No hot water in the shower-guess if you like waking up with frigid water then you’re in luck! The only friendly people were our waiter and barista. Front desk person was very rude and the hostess at the restaurant clearly hates her job! We vacation to Charleston usually twice per year-first time staying at this hotel. Convenience to everything downtown is great, but wish the hotel stay would have been nicer."
