"Very pet friendly; disappointing breakfast offerings; room was not very clean. We asked twice to have the floor washed but it was still dirty. The lookout over the water was lovely and we enjoyed morning coffee watching the boats but were disappointed that there was no water access other than the boat launch for which we had to pay extra. "
"They have a $50 deposit in
Addition to the room charge. We were told it wouldn’t be charged if room left ok but we were charged and it took a couple days to return it to us. Breakfast was kind of sparse. I wouldn’t stay there again. "
"Very clean room, delightfully comfortable bed, and excellent showerhead! The only problem (which I forgot to tell front desk at checkout, it was pouring and I was focused on getting on the road sooner) was the refridgerator door does not shut closed. Fortunately, I was only there for the night and did not need it (another reason it slipped my mind). Given they take incidental holds, the front desk should know if a room has a broken appliance or fixture and not assign it to a guest. The evening and morning clerks were professional and friendly. . . Especially the morning. "
"Booked a room and had to change rooms due to a smell we couldn't tolerate. They obliged. It was okay for overnight, but didn't want to stay there longer."
"I felt like this place was a gem hidden in the woods. Their staff was super friendly & the small cafe on-site had the best down-home vibes I've experienced in a long time. Can't wait to go back!"
"This was an overnight stay to visit the Crystal River and swim with manatees. The motel was good with a swimming pool. The refrigerator was a bar frige but ice was available. Big room, but dated. The towel rack in the bathroom fell off the wall when I touched it"
Private Room at Crystal River Retreat with Salt Water Pool
2/10 Terrible
"Terrible. Ended up spending another $1,600 last minute to stay elsewhere. This is not an air bnb or anything similar. It’s is one child size bedroom in a rude old lady’s house. It is intentional false advertising. The “shared bathroom” clause is supposed to have you assume you will be sharing the place with the elderly woman that lives there and whatever guests she has in another room. She called us that day and corrected our grammar and was very rude. Upon arrival, we walked past a living area with white boards everywhere stating rules and what you can and can’t do, stepped over her aggressive dog’s pee pee pads, and were shown to a room with just a few inches of space to move around the bed. The woman claimed we were supposed to infer from the “shared bathroom” clause that we should have known better and to just ignore the strangers coming and going from the other room. Proceeded to be rude and we ended up having to drive nearly 20 mins to Crystal River where it was supposed to be located and get a hotel. "
