This location combined with the price makes it a great choice. That said, this is not a resort-style/high service place. Key plusses are the price, easy walking distance to a great beach, pleasant and helpful staff, and free on-street parking.
The staff is very pleasant and quick to help. Our room had a fridge, and there are microwaves available in the common area downstairs as well as an ice machine and games. The common area porch is large with a mix of chairs and newer couches. The area is quiet with a Dunkin' Donuts and other food and shopping options within walking distance.
At this price be sure to manage expectations. Rooms are simply appointed and bathrooms are small. The window air conditioner sometimes struggled to keep up with the July heat and was quite loud, not an issue for us but might be for others. The hot water was great but water pressure could use a boost. The bath towels could use an upgrade but were offered in plenty. Complimentary shampoo and soap was provided. We stayed for 5 days and only put out the "clean room" sign once but the room was cleaned quickly and well. Overall the carpets and some bath fixtures could use an upgrade but all were clean and functional. The card-based keys were fussy but staff was good about replacing them.
It would be great if there was a long term plan to upgrade things like the AC and door locks over the next 3-5 years.
