"Previous reviewers said that the decor was tired and dated; this is true, but the welcome was excellent; the bed comfortable; a decent breakfast was provided and it was a fair price. All that is more important than the decor "
"It was a beautiful stay, although the bathroom is really small but was manageable, was able to do the online check-in and everything was smooth, the place was quiet and offers lovely breakfast! "
"We loved our stay at this beautiful little inn. It's on a peaceful little road and the hotel was very quiet. We had a fantastic dinner and prices were very reasonable. Breakfast was also delicious.
In addition, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area."
"An excellent establishment with comfy rooms, excellent food and all for a very reasonable price. Can't recommend highly enough and would stay again if in the area"

Good
Party central for that part of South Wales, judging by the pubs and clubs. Found a superb Italian restaurant who seated and served me despite the kitchen being just about to close. Fab pizza.

We very much like Carmarthen and all the town has to offer. We just happened to stay at the Rose & Crown on an extremely busy Saturday night when the pub and surrounding areas were full of revellers! We accept that this is unavoidable and we enjoyed.

Carmarthen is a town I know very well, it is quieter in the evening these days and feels quite safe. Lots of options for restaurants and pubs.

Excellent
Carmarthen is an excellent market town with a lot of shops and restaurants and a cinema.
"The hotel staff were very good, the room clean & beds good. We had a good night with undisturbed sleep & a hearty breakfast. The hotel building is in need of some TLC though, threadbare/frayed stair carpets, the chair in our room needed reupholstering, paint work, woodwork & door frames particularly at suitcase height were bashed & chipped. The overall impression is good though - clean & pleasant smelling, but on closer inspection it is tired & needs refreshing."
"Spacious clean rooms and very friendly staff what else would one need?
Washrooms could use a vanity upgrade and maybe hooks for towels but otherwise fabulous hotel. "
"I've stayed at this hotel many times and this was my fourth visit this year, facilities are superb, beach and marina within touching distance, city centre just a few minutes walk away, great location for the Mumbles and all the beaches in the Gower."
