"Overall we had a good stay at the Carlsbad by the Sea. The location was convenient being that we were going to Legoland. The food hall next door and the outlets shopping across the street made everything convenient. A few downside were our room was on the highway side and there was a constant hum. The resort was undergoing renovations, so parking was not super convenient and at the time the guest laundry was closed. Housekeeping does not come everyday, which is totally understandable, but the floors were obviously not swept or vacuumed well. we could feel crumbs/dirt on parts and could see cobwebs and dust bunnies near corners. Also, a bit frustrating, we chose this hotel with the understanding that it had a free shuttle to Legoland. However, a few days before the trip I looked on the hotels website and it listed that they no longer offered a shuttle. Not sure if the inaccuracy is hotels.com fault of the hotel itself."

"Great place to stay. Lots of activities on the resort. Staff was super friendly! Check in was very crowded when we arrived, but the staff was pleasant during the process. Excellent resort, very clean for being an older building."

"I will start with the room. The beds were so comfortable. You just sink into the bed and comfortable pillows. Everything was clean plenty of towels plenty of hot water, milk and cookies between eight and nine every night which is so cool. The pool was great, but there is no hot tub. Breakfast was good as well. Great location right off the highway. The restaurant has been closed for two years, but there is a gas station in the same parking lot so that made it a little convenient for gas but plenty of places to eat around that area in a short distance! Very homey feeling! We will definitely be back! 10 out of 10 recommend!"
