"Our room had a perfect view. It is dated but it was quiet and clean. The entire staff was very helpful and we will stay there again. Only got 3 just because it's a bit dated. Perfect location for walking and beach access!!!"

"This hotel needs upgrades! The windows are single pane and you literally can hear EVERYTHING! be prepared to get no sleep! We also had a room with a kitchenette, however, it came with no pots or pans, no silverware, no dishes, nothing! So, you're on vacation and I guess they want you to buy all kitchenware in order to be able to utilize the kitchenette???? makes no sense! completely pointless to reserve a room with a kitchenette that you can't use!"

"Our experience began with an attempt to check in early; however, we were informed there would be an additional $30 fee or that we could return at the standard 3:00 p.m. check-in time. We chose to return at 3:00 p.m. as advised, but upon arrival, we experienced an additional one-hour wait before our party was accommodated. Upon entering the rooms, we encountered several cleanliness concerns. Our room had an unpleasant odor, as if water had been sitting for an extended period, and another room in our party had condom wrappers left on the floor. Additionally, my sister was initially assigned the incorrect room, which required further correction. On a more positive note, the breakfast was excellent. Despite a change in weather, the pool remained warm, and the jacuzzi was very enjoyable. The property’s location was also convenient, situated approximately 10 minutes from Legoland."

"I really hoped to like this stay but it wasn’t an ideal stay. We got to our room, the cleaning of the room was terrible. Fridge dirty, coffee machine area dirty not fully cleaned, shower was filthy! The bathroom floors were dirty. The water pressure in the shower was terrible, the water was leaking from the shower to the bathroom floor, later on towards the night our room started to have a sewer smell, they sent someone to spray something in the room, it helped but we couldn’t sleep at night because of that smell, the next morning we had left and came back and our room started to smell again, the water in our room started to smell like poop, no joke. The longer the water ran the more it had that smell. The water it self felt very slimy. We had to cut our trip short due to the inconvenience of the room. Having to deal with this and having a child with you was miserable! "

"The best thing about this place was the location. You can’t beat it. We were able to walk to everything, including the beach, restaurants, shopping centers. However, this property is very outdated. The bathroom was seriously outdated, the electrical outlets need updating, and they never cleaned our room or gave us towels for the entire day. What’s with that? The ironic thing is you will actually see a picture of the person that’s supposed to clean your room with a QR code to add a tip if you like. My tip is, clean the damn room. We actually had to go ask for towels on the first day and then just gave up. Not sure what’s going on with the service these days but it’s getting worse and worse in America. If you travel abroad, you will see that America is probably at the bottom of your list when it comes to value for your money and everything else. While I love Carlsbad, I don’t think I will be back here. I’ll keep looking for better deals and places that take a little bit more pride and people that actually clean your rooms and give you towels. I didn’t think we actually had to go beg for those."
