"This was not a good experience. Upon arrival and after travelling many hours to reach our destination, our room was not in accordance with expectations. After much consultation with staff, a request was offered for a upgrade to preferred status and an expected high level of service and quality room for which I was charged an additional $800. The money would have been well worth spent if not for other issues including poor service delivery at one of the upscale restaurants and general apathy when certain requests were made to address issues including the maid entering our room while my wife was in the bathroom. This event was the highly unacceptable for my wife who was not feeling well and led us to cut our stay short by checking out three days prior to expected final date of our stay. I discussed with a preferred representative and requested a three-day credit for early departure and was told a supervisor would make a decision in due course as to allowance of the credit. Our departure date was Monday May 11, 2026, and as of today's date I am yet to receive a response or feedback. This is very disconcerting because I paid in excess of $400 per day for the daily rate (after the upgrade) and feel that it was not money well spent. Very disappointing and clearly not an experience that was enjoyable given my wife and I were looking forward to spending time in the country having previously had a great experience at a different hotel in January 2025."
