"Nice hotel with A1 staff. Some deferred maintenance and the place looks a bit dated but all in all OK. The breakfast was good and varied. We felt the price was a bit high for the hotel but it appeared to be the best one in the area. Well located and a 20 minute walk from most of the things you want to see. Canterbury East Rail is a short walk away. All good"

"We didn’t really use any of the hotel amenities. We were there only one night and just slept there. I didn’t realize though that there was no air conditioning and of course it was a heat wave happening and there was no elevator. The staff was very helpful with carrying our 4 pieces of luggage up some very step stairs to our room. We left at 4am, so we did not use the free breakfast."

"Not sure the huge price increase just to have a view of the Tower of London was worth it. No coffee/tea in room. Self check-in which was fast but I would have rather had someone greet me while I checked in. Just in case I had questions. Plus it makes it feel personalized. All that said, room was immaculate and bed comfortable."

"Staff were very friendly and efficient. Hotel and my room always looked clean and inviting. Meals were tasty and well presented. If had to make a criticism it would be that there was no portable (temporary) air conditioning and the windows in my room (Charles 3rd) could not be opened. A large fan had thoughtfully been provided before my arrival but in the heatwave simply moved the hot air. Bar and restaurant staff were excellent and despite seeming to be switching between roles at times, there was never much of a wait. This was my first break in 2 1/2 years and was very relaxing. Would definitely visit again."
