"Unsure what makes this an eco retreat aside from the fact they ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill with water they provide and there is no hot water for showers. The property has a lot of potential but it felt maybe slightly neglected. There was a lot of debris on the ground, the kitchen area was really dirty and the room had rusty racks and shower curtains that allowed water to spray out all over the floor. "Our stay was great. The beach location was perfect for our family. Breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the bottom of the pool is not very smooth and left a couple of small scrapes on my son and mines big toes after playing in the pool for a good amount of the day. Most people probably won’t have this problem but it was an issue we dealt with. "

"Great place to relax and enjoy some local food with lots of opportunities to do excursions if you're up for a little action and site seeing. The staff at Margaritaville are kind and fun. The resort is well kept and has great amenities there's also a reasonable amount of activities for kids and adults. There's a local evening market on Monday's with a variety of goods to purchase and close and safe to walk to. Overall a lovely place to stay and visit."

"Overall it was very nice. The only minor thing was water. Most of the hotels we went to in Costa Rica, they offer free complimentary water per day specifically if you like to have coffee in the morning. They charged $9 for a bottle of water which was not fair specially since the hotel was no close to store where you can buy water. All they offered was walk to water fountain which was a long walk from our room in the middle of the night. We also paid for premium ocean view which was not really ocean view at all. You could see ocean from a gap between the trees which was from away."
