"Lively room with delicious food in the restaurant"

"We stayed here over a bank holiday weekend for Spa break. We were disappointed with immediately after arrival on the day, were shown the leisure/spa facilities of the hotel, which we thought was the spa in the pics, we were not advised otherwise. Spoiler alert, the actual spa isn’t in the same premises, the one on the premises is pretty much like a local leisure centre with tired facilities. We only found the next day that we had to leave the premises to go to the actual spa after my husband took his laptop to the reception showed pics of the spa from here said, it doesn’t look like this here, that’s when they decided to say oh you wanted to go here, that’s over there (pointing at another building across the street) to cut a long story short we wasted our first day wondering where the hell is the spa. The only redeeming element was the bar downstairs specifically Joshua & Paul, they really made us feel very welcome and looked after us throughout the evening. Also the next we finally went to the spa across the street and it was absolutely fantastic, the spa team even gave us a little present to say sorry for the confusion."

"We recently stayed at the Three Kings for 2 nights, having stayed there before. The room contained a very comfortable and large bed, with an adequate TV, coffee machine, kettle, coffee/tea, hairdryer, hanging space, and a fold up suitcase stand. The bathroom had shampoo and shower gel, and the shower itself was very good. The property has a restaurant and bar attached, where we had a very good dinner on the first night. This is where breakfast was served which, on the first morning, was exceptional. Unfortunately, on the second morning, some items not required were served and other items were missing and/or cold. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, and helped to make our stay enjoyable, thank you! We look forward to visiting again, and we would certainly recommend the Three Kings."

"We were pleasantly surprised that after seeing a few so-so reviews, that was not our experience at all - we had a great stay! The house and gardens are beautiful and while you'd expect a little wear and tear of a property that age, it was very impressive and looked after. We had one of the lodges at the side of the garden and really liked the little terrace outside our door that looked over the garden. The room couldn't be faulted, a very comfortable bed, lots of space and the bathroom was well equiped and spacious. Everything was clean and well maintained and the rainhead shower was strong and refreshing. We didn't see many staff, but the ones we did see were polite and helpful. There was a lot of choice at breakfast and I had the full vegetarian option - excellent scrambld eggs in particular. Overnight, strings of lights lit the garden and it was lovely to sit on the chairs they provided on our little terrace. We've reason to visit the area regularly now and we will try to stay there again."

"Best room we have ever stayed in at a Best Western Hotel - bathroom with bath and walk in shower. Good size room pleasantly decorated - comfortable bed. Had evening meal in restaurant and breakfast - food well cooked, Free parking and location of hotel perfect."

"The classic room we booked was very tired and dated. The walls, especially around switchesX were marked, worn and grubby. The bathroom was especially bad, dusty, mouldy and generally needs a refurb - I felt dirty using it! The decoration, fixtures and fittings were extremely dated. The carpets were marked and stained. The hallway was like a labyrinth, and creaked loudly as other guests walked down it past the room. The outlook was a rear court yard, very minimal natural light in the room. The room doors slam loudly, so between that and the hallway our sleep was disturbed often. The bed was average, small double - bedding was clean at least. We were charged £10 extra for a bed for our 2.5 year old son to sleep in. Nobody asked us how our visit was, even on check out. The rest of the hotel looks in need of a good clean and refurb."
